Window Covering Safety

Window Covering Safety Council   http://windowcoverings.org/

Window Covering Safety Council (WCSC) urges parents and guardians to ensure that their window coverings are safe for children.  Exposed or dangling cords can pose a strangulation hazard to infants and young children.  If you have young children, we encourage you to replace your window blinds, shades, and drapes with cordless products that are certified as “Best for Kids.”  Additionally, we suggest moving all beds, cribs, furniture, and toys away from windows and window cords and to shorten or tie existing cords so they will be out of sight and reach of children in your home.
