Six year old, Emma, can tell lots of stories. How her Grandma makes the best chocolate chip cookies; How her baby brother loves to draw pictures in crayon—on his bedroom wall; How her uncle has started to come into her bedroom at night. Emma told these stories and more to our forensic interviewer in the Child Advocacy Center. When her mother continued to live with this man, Emma and her brother went to live with their grandmother and were paired with a CASA volunteer, Mary Beth. Mary Beth also listened to Emma’s stories and advocated for her to continue living with her grandmother.
